Tibetan Buddhist Monks Visit UCONN Medical School in Farmington Connecticut! Tibetan Buddhist monks are visiting UCONN Medical Center in Farmington and building a Medicine Buddha Mandala for Healing. Please pass along the invitation and the great news! This is another wonderful chance to witness the traditional creation of a Sand Mandala, an ancient art form of Tibetan Buddhism. The monks are from the Drepung Gomang Monastery. Schedule of events: March 1 Opening Ceremony 2:00 PM March 2-6 Viewing of the Mandala Creation 9:00-4:30 PM March 6 Closing Ceremony 5:00 PM Items from the Himalayan region such as shawls and richly embroidered pillowcases handcrafted in the monastery will be available for purchase.
