Reqirement - open minds and open hearts Study Topic for Wednesday 6/10/09: Chapter 4- Carefulness (entire chapter) Way of the Bodhisattva by 8th Century Master, Shantideva In the first 3 chapters, Excellence of Bodhicitta, Confession, and Taking Hold of Bodhicitta Shantideva prepares our mind and heart for receiving the mindfulness teachings delivered in the following 3 chapters. His focus is on how we should retain the quality of open mind, open heart. In chapter 3 Shantideva illustrates how easy it is to lose our concentration on the Bodhisattva path. He encourages us with vivid language to remain awake and attentive in our practice.Thanks to the Sangha we can also encourage each other.
